Attribute Text is always generated in CAPS but I want it in lowercase

When I create new attribute text in LT 2018, I enter the Tag in lower case but when I click OK it appears in ALL CAPS.

I can click on the text and change it to lower case in Properties, but I'd rather avoid taking that second step.

How can I fix that?

ATTDEF create an ATTDEF, the TAG is UPPERcase, you can edit that, but some Acad-Function or 3.part Programs going wrong with that TAGs.

For what you need that??

If you want show lowercase chars in PropertiePalette, use the Prompt-String?

Here's how it goes:

I type "ATTDEF" at command line
Dialogue box opens
In Tag box I type "Text1"
In Prompt box I type "Text2"
In Default box I type "Text3"
I do not change any settings
I click OK
Attribute text "Text1" appears as TEXT1"
That is not how I want it to appear in a block
If I click on the text and select Properties, I can "fix" it

Yes, thats normally!

The automatic spelling is wanted, the program works correctly. Unfortunately, it is possible to change this again, but not all Autodesk functions can handle lowercase characters in the Tag. Therefore, I advise: Do not change. Use TAG only in uppercase letters.

99% works with lowercase Characters too, but you cannot change the ATTDEF commend.
Feel free to edit this after createing, but in future it is possible that you or another have trouble with that.

Its like POINTS in Blocknames or special characters in Layernames, 99% works, but the day for trouble come.

Ah - not a bug, just an undocumented feature.
The all-caps tag semi-confuses my fellow drafters, as well as my boss. When they see the all-caps tag, they think the text is supposed to be that way, even though when they change the attribute text it in comes in normally (which is what we need for our documents).
After 30 years of drafting, I'm conditioned to always use capitols, but every house has different rules. Here they want a "Standard English" combination of caps and lowers, so I'll explain that AutoCAD, the gold standard for Computer-Aided Drafting, is unable to do what they want.
Regardless, thank you for the help.

Edit to lowercase works, perhaps SPACE in TAGs too (in PropertiePalette? I can not test it in this second),
but if you want to edit your Attribute-Values one time with -ATTEDIT command and want to filter some Attributs by there TAGs, you cry.

You are using LT, -ATTEDIT is the only way for automatically editing Attributs!
Makcro, Script, all BatchEdit for more than 1 file with one click.. it doesnt works then with -attedit.
(full Acadversion can use some 3.parts programms, but some of this 'crash' too with lowercase characters)

But my question again:
"which is what we need for our document"

WHERE do you see Attribut-TAG in a documentation??
The only Place where you can see the TAG is in Acad (PropertiePalette) or in a
Block export with attribut data (ATTEXT command), this exportfile is easy to edit by Excel formel.

Your welcome
