APP/DATA file?

Not applicable

I cannot locate the app data file on my computer that Autodesk references when upgrading to 2016. Under the options tab and files, it shows a folder where autocad will look for files, but that doesn't exist on my computer hard drive anywhere. Did it fail to load while downloading the rest of the files. I have folders labeled: Fonts, Help, Support, Hatch Paterns, plot styles and colors. My Autocad seems to work fine and all drawings previously in our files come up with the proper layers and hatching. The files themselves just don't match the other 3 stations.

Should I be worried about the missing data file not being located on my c: drive? Everything seems to be located in my program files however the APP/Data file is not.

What is the problem you are trying to solve? Those are system files and are probably in hidden folders on your PC to protect them from damage.

We are trying to link all our stations up the same and my computer is the only one that doesn't have that particular folder in the Autodesk folder inside the program files folder on the c:drive. It doesn't seem to effect the operation of anything but the lead here was just worried it may cause trouble when the system does auto updates.

c:\users\username\appdata\roaming\autodesk\autocad lt 2016\r22\enu\support

The command says my folders for my fonts, layers and hatch patterns should be here. Trouble is this file can't be found. I have seperate files for each path located under the support file search path icon in my options. Will not having the above file mess with things when we update throughout the year is what I am trying to learn.

Forgive me, but what does "link all of our stations" mean?
APPDATA folder is a Windows system folder, you never need to mess with it ever. Ask your IT to reveal it to you with your log-in.

To share fonts, hatches and template files for layers you should NOT be messing with system folders: you create unique folders on a shared drive (or server) for these items and you ADD these folders to each workstation.

We have a folder called AUTOCAD on the server: under it are folders for fonts, hatches and other things. OPTIONS command's FILE Tab lets you add those folders to each category there, just remember to move your folder to the top of the list so it is searched first.

You leave system folders and files alone: they are hidden for a reason, you could cause more damage and harm that good.

Our lead wanted all screens to match and each folder be the same on every computer. We have a file like the one you mention and is kept in a shared system amongst all users. Your answer tells me what I need to know about the app files. Just wanted to make sure nothing got deleted that was needed.

Thank you

You are saying appdata folder should not be messed but Autodesk tell you to save your custom linetypes in this folder.  I know it exists but it wont show in explorer and I dont have the view options to make it not hidden. what should we be doing leaving alone the appdata folder or saving linetypes in it?

Forgive me if I am not understanding but pendean says you should not mess with the appdata folder but Autodesk Linetype help page tells you to save your linetypes in the app data folder.

To show hidden folders, go to control panel, click on folder options, go to the view tab, under advanced settings make sure that show hidden folders is checked.
