Aligning multiple objects

Is there a way to align multiple objects along the same axis as the further most object?  As an example, to have the right side of three boxes line up with the right side of the box furthest to the right.

They must be on a locked layer: those options are turned on here.

Is this a specific DWG problem? Post it here, let's all look at the source file for ourselves.

If these are blocks, and their insertion points are in the same plane, you can use PROPERTIES command to locate the Z setting to "...6feet....".

If they are not, and they don't look to be, rotate your UCS so you have a side view, then drag each one.

Automation can only happen with pre-planning: did you pre-plan for this need?

The only thing that is locked is the background layer.

I created boxes around all the equipment and then extruded the box to the required height as advised by the customer.

The boxes in RED are the ones that need to be at the 6ft requirement as per NEC...(which the 6ft is at the top of the equipment)

I have already moved the equipment to the correct height but by doing so with the MOVE command, and then the (.Z) pointer filter.

My question was if there is a command or easier way of selecting multiple equipment with different heights and aligning them perfectly at the 6ft mark.

As you see in this drawing, I had a various amount of equipment that needed to be moved. I have a lot more buildings that need equipment laid in and moved with the same pattern. I'm always looking for shortcuts or lisp routines that can make my job easier, faster, and make me more valuable.

Ignore the red nodes and yellow 4x4 boxes.

It's a program I am running for cable tray.

Thought that layer was turned off.

These are just text objects on a non-locked layer. No blocks, no complex objects; this is as simple as it gets. Drawing sample attached. The yellow arrow points to the text I want aligned to the left.

Daren,

Glad to see another EE in the house.

I looked at your drawing, and I was able to manipulate the X and Y coordinates.

If you have multiple lines of text running horizontal like that, but don't want the hassle of making sure they line up vertically....copy the x-coordinate of the one text that you want the rest of them to align with, and then select all the affected text..and paste the X-value inside. You must have the properties window open to do this.

SEE ATTACHMENT.

Hope this is what you meant.

If not, I just wasted time doing silly stuff...but maybe someone will find it useful.

Ah! If only that worked on my end! I already mentioned on previous page that those values can't be changed on my end - they are grayed out, locked, can't be clicked, can't be changed, etc.

If others can do that, why can't I? I tried this file on Bentley ProjectWise and my local C-drive Desktop, this pieces of sh*t won't unlock/free/open for me...

PS: Not quite an EE, I just do CAD work for various disciplines here (Electrical, Substation, Civil, etc).

Daren,

Take a screenshot for me, please.

This is what your drawing looks like when I highlight/select text on my end.

I think I may have figured it out - it locks/unlocks depending on what Text
'Justification' the text is set at (for example, you can change it with
'Left' but not with 'Middle Left'). Oh boy, I'm ready for Friday.

Correct.

I found that out on this piece of single line text (shown highlighted in attachment).

I change the justification of it to the others, and it unlocked those greyed out areas.

The beauty of this method is that you can align to any object in a row/column not just first or even enter a new value.

PROPERTIES command tip you are replying to works with 1 or 100s of blocks: i you are using a modern version of AutoCAD/LT you can use ALIGN command for more control.
If you are using full AutoCAD, and not LT where you are posting, there might be a LISP or 3rd party add-in at the Autodesk APp Store to do more for you.

Since no one has any idea what your exact needs not many are going to be able to be more specific.

I was replying to the accepted solution.

That would be a terrible time (and nerves) consuming thing to do when talking about many block objects.
