After AutoCAD LT2020 Update - Problem with factor z

After I install the AutoCAD LT 2020 Update to the version Q70.0.0 AutoCAD LT 2020.1 I have following problem.

In the old version. When I have a block with x,y and z factor = 1 and I change the x and y to 2.5 than the text on z was stretched. Now in the updated version I change the x,y parameter and the text on z will not stretched.
Is this a bug or a new feature?

By the way, I'm a AutoCAD beginner.

Hi,

please upliad a sample where you explain what you talk about, what is the current value/display and what is the expected.

I don't understand:

In the old version.

When I have a block with x,y and z factor= 1

you mean a block-REFERENCE, ok

 and I change the x and y to 2.5

HOW? You select the block-reference and change the X/Y-factor in your properties-palette [CTRL+1], OR JUST THE X factor, Or command SCALE?

than the text on z was stretched.

What a TEXT?? Text inside the Block? Attribut, Postion ode rValue?

Z-What? Z-Position? Z-factor? Where can you see it, where i have to look to check it on my side?

Uh, hard case.

By the way, I'm a AutoCAD beginner.

Ok, Beginner means "all is possible"?

Perhaps you are not talking about the same DWG and the same Block?

Then: I guess your old Blockwas locked for different X/Y/Z-scales and your current Block isn't setup to "Scale uniformly"

BLOCK: http://help.autodesk.com/view/ACD/2020/ENU/?guid=GUID-03B61417-F040-4EB0-AFEA-B229AD303D91

Look at the right side, Option "Scale uniformly"

Or explain it better and upload a DWG with only one block-reference after your X/Y=2.5 scaling

Works fine here, maybe you had the blocks set to scale uniformly, otherwise, you can set the scale factor for x, y and z separately as usual. Post a copy of your block if this isn't what you mean.

I've attached two pictures. You see that the "30" is in small letters. When I change the z factor to something bigger than 1, for example 1.001 than the 30 is stretched. In the version, before the update, this problem is not.

Sorry!

Yes i mean the block-REFERENCE. You see this in the attached block_properties.png

I use [STRG+1] to change the properties.

i mean the text in the block. You can see the "30" in the block.png picture. This is small when z=1. If z> 1.0001 the it will "stretched".

Uh, hard case.

Sorry, I know! But thanks for you help and your time.

Are you unable or unwilling to upload a DWG with this block-reference, whtas the problem?

No problem.

Think about if you would be the helper and could not seen the monitor of the asking person..

Sorry, but that would be an easy way to follow you

And you say the older (2020.0) Version had a bug  |  Z/=1 stretchs the text is a (known) bug in some cases,

but we can not be sure in your case because we can not check a stupid raster picture.

2020.1 don't have this bug (i understand your explanation this way) and now .. what's now? Do you have a question or what?

All happy about a bug fix, but you?

Or is it the opposit: In 2020.0 it doesn't stretch, but in 2020.1 ?

Upload the sample and we check it on our side.

Attached is a example.dwg.

The Problem is in the Q.70.0.0 2020.1 (latest version) and not in the Q 49.0.0 2020.

If the z factor is over 1, example 1.0001, the picture, in this case the "30", is stretched. If the z factor is 1, the 30 is small. Hope you can see this in the .dwg file.

If the z-factor is greater than 1 and I change the x and y factors arbitrarily, the "30" will change as well.

Odd behaviour indeed, the z factor should at least in theory have no effect at all on any block geometry (unless it is a 3D block) but text could possibly have some 'bug'. Does using a slight variation in the X and Y scale factors work for you X=2.5 Y=2.50001

the 2020.1 update should be the last update you install.

Why not start over with only that installation, then let us know if you think you still have a problem.

Ok. In this case x=2.5 and y=2.5 and z=1 then the "30" is small. If I change a value of x or y to 2.50001 the"30" is big. If I change the value x and y together the "30" will small.

OK so you can have it big or small, does that solve your problem?

You can handle the problem that way, but it does not solve it.
I have a lot of plans with many different blocks. Since I would have to change now the values at all. The question is why behavior changes suddenly. If there is no solution I have to reinstall the old version.

Post an actual DWG file with the problem (and point to it/them), and you can get an answer instead of a dozen guesses like @steven-g is trying to do.

The answer is yes something has changed with the new version (whether that is a bug or just an unintentional design change who knows?), you can alter the z scale as a workaround to achieve what you want or go back to an older version, other than that maybe place a support request?

I will go back to the old version and submit the problem to the support. Thanks for your help!

There isn't a problem with that update (my opinion at this time),

The Z/=0 problem is much older (decades) and there isn't a problem or any differences between 2020 and 2020.1.

Or?

If so, please show us the differences.. You uploaded just one picture, not the other one to compare.

Here are my pictures. The copy below have z= 1.0001 (but it can also be 6 or another value /=0)

all the same. 2013, 2020, even 2020.1 and a look to the feature: Also in 2020.1.1

I made a Test and picture in my LT2020, and for you i installed the update 2020.1 for my LT -

again test and screenshot. It is what i know as usual in all versions.

I've uploaded a .dwg file where you can see the problem. By the way, five other colleagues have exactly the same problem. We are back to the 2020 version now.

ahh, my focus was to other settings. Now i re-viewed my own picture again and i see that case of issue!

And i also see it is fixed if is change the z-scale to /= 1,  lol.

This is what you talk about and yes, it is specially in 2020.1 a bug (and spoiler: fixed in the next Update!)
