ACAD drawings created with an ACAD Trial Version?

I recently created and saved a drawing using a 15 day trial version of ACAD LT 2025.  It took me a few days, to get back up to speed after a 20+ year hiatus from using ACAD; but I really enjoyed rekindling my familiarity with ACAD.

My drawing file was shared in collaboration with a friend who routinely uses his own licensed ACAD LT 2020 in a CNC machining process.  He was able to use my drawing to successfully create my test pieces on his CNC machine.  However a few changes were required.  He was able to make some of the changes on his ACAD LT 2020 but then, after my 15 day trial version expired, he is unable to make additional changes to drawing with a message stating that the license had expired.  Is this normal?

That is, can one person create a drawing with an ACAD trial version and then copy and share the drawing file with someone else who has a currently licensed ACAD installation and add to or edit the drawing?

Thanks for any info on this!

Thanks for your reply Paul!

It didn't sound right to me either.  As it turns out my friend's ACAD computer simply wasn't connected to the internet so, apparently, it was his valid ACAD subscription and license that couldn't be verified.

Once his computer was connected to the internet, all is well.
