2008 LT - Error 1935 during the installation

The installation of AutoCAD is interrupted in the end with error 1935. After 95% of the process it fails and there is nothing what we can do.
It's the new computer and new Windows XP. .NET Framework was uninstalled, reinstalled, the same thing with DWF Viewer. TEMP was cleared, firewall and antivirus turned off.

I have completely no idea what else we can do. Any help appreciated!

Thanks, but the first thing I did was checking it in Knowledge Base. It's related to 2005/2006 and Framework 1.1 - the solution shown there didn't solve user's problem.

It seems to be a giant Microsoft problem:
http://support.microsoft.com/search/default.aspx?spid=global&query=error+1935&qryWt=&mode=r&cus=False

I would use a Windows Registry cleaner to gut the Registry of all entries,
back up your files, reformat and reinstall XP and start fresh to start with
and see if that helps.

Or wait for others to chime in and contact Microsoft support in the
meantime.

Why blame it all on Windows? AutoCAD 2008 was made to run with Vista. They are just as much at fault as Microsoft. In fact Autodesk is even more at fault, considering they have put out a 2008 product in 2007, knowing full well they are using customers as beta testers for their not yet finished product.
There are many people who stay with older versions of AutoCAD LT and are still in business. The lesson here is "if you don't have to upgrade to LT2008, don't".

lol, now there is one scare-tactic way to look at things: I've got one
customer running 2005 and 2006 on a half-dozen Vista laptops with no issues,
two running 2007 on about as many Vista desktops, no one seems to be having
any issues.

Go figure, must be magic, or they bought really special versions of
HP/TOSHIBA/DELL hardware and secret Vista versions.... ssshhhhhh!!!

So what was it Dean, a Vista or an AutoCAD LT2008 problem? You mention that your customers are running LT2005, 2006 and 2007 with Vista. What about LT2008? Yer boots are fiilling up Dean. 😉

A little nit-picking is good for the soul I guess: Lt2008 running smoothly
on XP and Vista at 5-customers with a total of 28 PCs and Laptops that I
have personally installed since May.

Only problems are Vista security issues on networks with older network OS
(not my problem to solve), and remote access across the internet to those
desktops (not mine to solve), and those PCs with less than 2Gig Ram where
Vista is so darn slow it reminds me of the old days of R9 and DOS3.3 (cheap
client, what can I say, short-term vision).

If you have Vista, kill all the cutesy visual crap (Windows classic theme),
minimum 2Gig RAM (note I wrote minimum), dual-core processor and a massive
HD and you can run anything from LT2005 through LT2008. If it does not, look
at what else you have loaded or running as the problem, this is not
rocket-science folks.

Exactly the same problem with Vista Business!! I'm a bit confused, client is a bit furious and we have no solution yet.
