XRIF to a NAS

Hello, i download files from a server and all of the file have a rif to a path in the server that makes open and working on the file very slow (like impossibly slow) i figured that i can unlock the file if i delete the rif to the server but to do that i have to wait 10 to 20 mins every time i open a new file. is there a way to tell autocad to not load external rif?

Hi,

From the small arrow near the Open button in the Open file dialog Or -PARTIALOPEN command Use the Partial Open function to load your .DWG file .  check only those layers that do not belong to a Xref or check the "Unload all Xrefs on open" box.

Hi,

As you can see >>>here<<<, NAS drives are not supported with AutoCAD.

So I would not use a NAS at all when working with AutoCAD files. I guess better than to verify how to now load XRef's (which means you never can use the advantages of XRef's) is to use a server based on Windows OS than to have a NAS for file storage.
