Xref won't reload

No matter what I do, Xref won't reloaded. As you can see in the video, I change color in the Xref-file but it does not change color in the file I work in. What should I do?

@Anonymous  hi,

obvously (but not for sure cause we can not see) the problem is in the nested xrefs inside xref1, it look like they are not found. expand the command line and see if autocad is 'complaining' aboue something?

Edit and resave all levels of nested XREFs referencing that file with visretain set to 0.

Are you saying that you were making the changes to the wrong file because of this multiple files issue?

If so, you can prevent this from happening by opening the XREF from the referencing drawing. This should guarantee that you are opening the right file.

I am having the same type of problem with xref functions in the sense that when the original xref file for the main plan is changed, it does not reload while the window is open and there is a yellow triangle with an exclamation mark that appears.  The only way to see the original xref file in the plan is to close the window and reopen in.  Normally it changes immediately when you go to the other window, but new issue has been happening more often.  Can anyone help with this problem?  I have included a screen video.  Thanks for the help!

Yes, both VISRETAIN 1 which is described in the Mastering AutoCAD book and VISTRETAIN 0, neither of which worked.

Sorry, your problem is not the same as the OP. Visretain has nothing to do with your issue.
