Xref into paper space not using vport

i have xref a file into model space already. And my coworker is nice enough to set up all the paper space for me.

However, he uses vport for one of the xref. but for some reason the other xref is not under vport i believe. Because when i click on the boarder it selected everything in the boarder. and when i click on the boarder it wont let me modify anything like a vport would. the only thing i can do is to stretch the boarder only.

So my questions is, does anyone know what kind of function he uses to have the xref into the paper space? because i need to modify that xref. beside that do you know how to add a vertex to the boarder as well so i can create different shape beside a square only?

Lets say you have drawing "A" and it contains a border and title block drawn in MODEL SPACE, at coordinates 0,0.

Now you open drawing "B" and switch to a layout. You can Xref in drawing "A" into the layout (or PAPER SPACE) and now this border / title block is showing in the layout. If you want to edit it, you select it, run the XOPEN command, and it will open drawing "A" (or switch to it, if it's already open).
