xref inserting rotated when no rotation specified

for the last month or more, i've noticed a few goofy things going on with my Autocad.  (using Autocad 2021)

1. i can no longer adjust the length of an MTEXT line of text WHILE in the EDIT text menu.  This is annoying.

2. When I insert xrefs, or sometimes even when cutting and pasting, objects are coming into my drawing roated when no rotation was specified.  i have hot keys for rotating my UCS, and when i re-click my "home" button and try again, all is ok, but i was "home" when i was previously working in or opened the drawing to begin with, so there should have been no need for this step.

3. an issue i've had since i started using Autocad 2021 is that after a while my CTRL+up arrow "nudge" stops working.  i have not idea what is triggering this.  and then sometimes if i'm lucky, later in my day, i can use it again.  no idea what's going on there.

is anyone else experiencing any of these oddities?  or is it just a ghost in my machine?

1) doing it wrong perhaps? Show us what you do, how you do it, we don't know you from anyone else posting.
2) It would appears from your post that you lost track of your UCS and PLAN commands settings (WORLD for both is a good place to start).
And 2021 has the updates that need to be installed.
3) It either works or it does not: if it is sporadic you have something else going on that most here will not b able to diagnose for you. Perhaps in some of your files it is just slower to activate than you are willing to wait?
