XREF gymnastics

I've built a solid model with handful of parts that are assembled from XREFs. Each XREF component being copied moved and rotated numerous times. I would like to know if there is a way, once I have finished editing all of the XREFs to import them as actual solids that maintain their final positions.

Look into binding them. You can do that from the XREF manager by right clicking on each item in the list and selecting BIND. There are two options for binding, insert and bind. The bind option will add the file name as a prefix to layers, text styles, dimstyles, etc. Not always desirable unless you think there is a chance that both files have different definitions for the same name. Using the insert option, anything with the same name will take on the properties from the referencing file.

Drafting is a breeze and Revit doesn't always work the way you think it should.

Hi @Anonymous,

If I am understanding your question correctly, I suggest that @RobDraw's suggestion of an Insert Bind might be the answer. Here is an Article  that might get you started. I suggest you try it on a copy of your host file to make sure that everything works the way you want.

In addition to what @RobDraw said, you should explode the bound blocks if you want the solids without the block wrappers.
