dxf file error in trueview.png

Once an dxf file (DWG tag ac1018) is opened, the captured message is prompted.

Can anyone provide any comment so that the designer can have a better idea on what to do with the DXF export?

Much appreciated.

Hi,

if you we would be able to open your DXF file we would see what is at line 848848, without seeing the lines it's hard to say what has to be corrected.

>> what to do with the DXF export

Which software did create that DXF?

If it is AutoCAD there is nothing special to do besides of just saving as DXF.

Hi Alfred,

Thanks for replying to my question so quickly.

I don't know what created that DXF.

I don't know how to locate that line, but I tried open it with notepad. I also don't know how to identify what's wrong, but I spotted something that didn't feel right:

LINE
5
F0
330
1F
100
AcDbEntity
8
ǰ¶Ë
62
8
420
8421504
100
AcDbLine
10
1309.xxx-xxxxxxxx

you might be to see there's some jibberish in the 2nd line after AcDbEntity. A pattern like the above repeats at couple of places.

Something I'm guessing from the context is that the party which sends me the dxf file works in a simplified chinese environment. Does language environment have anything to do with the problem here? or fonts?

DXF files are supposed to be all ASCII characters using MIF or CIF to represent any non-ASCII characters in string data. As of AutoCAD 2007 UTF-8 is also supported for string data. String data are dxf groups:

0 - 9
100 - 101
300 - 309
410 - 419
430 - 439
470 - 479
999 - 1003

Hi,

if that combination of 2 lines appear often:

8
ǰ¶Ë

then change them to

8
0

Good luck, - alfred -
