Xclip not working

I have heard some posts about xclips, it seems like a simple command however it doesn't seem to be working for me.

I follow the process and draw the frame fine however no section of the xref is being clipped out.

Do you have two xrefs, one on top of the other? I see two different images in your screenshot.

Thanks pendean.  I knew there was something wrong with the drawing.  It was loading very slowly, gliching all over the place and crashing CAD.  There was only one xref but it had been loaded 3 times on top of each other.  No idea how somebody managed to do that...
