Working with xref in OneDrive shortcut to SharePoint

Hello,

I'm having issues with working with xrefs in AutoCAD. Whenever I try to work with references, AutoCAD seems to freeze/crash for a few seconds before loading the action. Sometimes this is one or two seconds but sometimes it could be a whole minute. When we monitor the AutoCAD process in Task Manager we noticed that it says "Not responding" when the app freezes. Both drawing and reference are located in a OneDrive shortcut to our SharePoint location. Whenever we put the whole project local, there seems to be no issue.

Strangely enough, there are multiple other colleagues of mine who are using the same work procedure that don't experience this issue.

Has anybody had any experience with this?

It sure is, although we've been doing this trip for years and we still are. Multiple colleagues don't experience any issues with this workflow. However, on this particular device, it seems to be too much. I'd guess this might be a setting that has been fiddled with or something? Any ideas are welcome.
