Hi guys,

I am a final year student doing civil engineering. At the moment I am writing my dissertation. I have found a diagram that I want to use for my dissertation. In order to draw in I have to use autoCAD in 3d. But I have no idea how to do it. I triend tracing the image in autocad but I does not look professional.

Do you have any suggestions on how I recreate this image. I was thinking if there is a fucton to extract only the blacks. I have tried this is photoshop but it did not work :).

Thanks in advance

Adobe Illustrator can extract the lines with Image Tracing, you need to use Adobe 2015 versions or above. Export as DXF, then import into AutoCAD. That's what I do. You have to play with the trace settings until you get close enough to what you need.

Worst case scenario, I'll do it for you. And we can exchange favors in the future.

Well done. But only 2D right? Don't you want 3D?

Would be cool if you projected 3D for everyone. But if it's only for a large essay, 2D works.
