Hi!

Is it possible to get windows explorer as a dialog box when you want to open and save files and so on? Dialog box with an address bar, similar to Microsoft Word.

See picture below.

NO. Not as a replacement.

But why you don't open your files for Explorer right away - using double click or drag-and-drop?

I (almost) never use Open dialog.

I double-click to open but miss it most when I have to save or xref dwg files and the dialog box is not in the correct location. I find it easier to navigate in the dialog box from Word than Autocad.

I see... while I can agree with you that it is a nice feature to have, the answer is still the same.

Speaking of MS Word... It has its own ways to complicate navigation when saving. Click the [Browse] first ... Fortunately, it's turnable off.

@Bienz-Hartmann_Maik Autodesk does not change anything in the software if not enough people ask for it: do your part to ask/demand over here https://www.autodesk.com/company/contact-us/product-feedback

Many applications have similar setbacks. What I usually do is have the project folder open in Windows Explorer and then just copy and paste the path. Works like a charm in mand applications. including the ancient windows 3.1 diloags that I run into on occasion.

You can also right click on the file and select copy as path. This will put quotes around the file name, but you can easily remove those and paste it into the file dialogs.

It kills me watching people navigate when they have the project open in file explorer.... I'm far too lazy to work that hard lol
