Will Autocad work with Windows 11?

No aplicable

Just received a new Laptop preloaded with Windows 10 Pro. It is compatible to upgrade to Windows 11. Need to know if AutoCad will work with Windows 11. It should but would like other opinions.

If it doesn't, then Autodesk will say "I told you so".

Go for it: install Win11, do the bug-testing for all of us, let your bosses/clients know you may not be able to work on the new laptop for some time, keep us updated on your progress here so we can learn from your discoveries. I'm truly looking forward to your lessons-learned moments with it all.

Thanks for leaping way ahead of everyone.

You should wait until Autodesk makes AutoCAD for use on it. Otherwise, you may have issues.

Excellent point. I may attempt a dual boot scenerio. If I'm chasing my tail or sence any level of masochistic behavior I will terminate and chat with my therapist. If not will update here.

Hi @Anonymous,

AutoCAD 2021 and 2022 are now Windows 11 compatible per the following Autodesk Knowledge Network (AKN) article:

Compatibility of AutoCAD and toolset with Windows 11

All the best,

Well it does work, but as others have pointed out there are a few glitches, particularly with drop down boxes which seem to randomly change colour whenever you click on one:

Hi,

>> a few glitches, particularly with drop down boxes

You should report this to Microsoft, as it's their bug.

Just one sample from Microsoft Visual Studio in Windows 11 ... so this has nothing to do with Autodesk and shows the same problem:

@cheryl.buck ,

FYI

Note that although AutoCAD and the 2021 and 2022 Toolkit are fully compatible with Windows 11 (AutoCAD and Windows 11 Toolkit Compatibility), the operating system requirements still recommend Windows 10. In fact, the " Certified Graphics Hardware "does not yet offer the option for Windows 11.

Sorry, I spoke too soon.

I've just installed the latest cumulative patch and thought it had worked.

When I first load AutoCAD everything looks and works fine.

But then after a few clicks, it goes wonky again.

Yes, Window 11 is totally supporting AutoCad based products, all your hardware drivers just have to be fully updated to window 11, that's it. AutoCad products and toolset version 2021 and 2022 fully support Window 11.

Ok, so is signed up for he windows insider program for accesss to the latest iso of 11 pro. In the process of attempting to locate the iso, my machine auto updated to 11 pro. At the time I was infuritated at both myself for making such a rookie move and 2 now being forced to deal with 11 in it's not so prime state.

The bottom line is that the system is more intuitive, faster and simply has fewer glitches than 10.

I built my machine which means I know just enough to be dangerous. On a processor such as the intel i9-9940K there are a number of built in overclocking options. I use water cooling and my machine runs all day and night overclocked at about +30%. When I would try and run this much overclocking under win 10 the machine would invariably hang or have other issues such as slow behavior, the typicall incessently waiting for a folder to open followed by the additional 15 that you selected in an attempt to get the machine to respond type behavior.

Under 11 I have not had one issue with overclocking. By the way, I use this machine for work. I am not a gamer by any stretch unless you consider low tech puzzle games and solitare in gamer territory. I do have an RTX 2080 ti video card and 128 mb of ram as well as all ssd disks (2 samsung 970 evo plus 2 TB units, a 1 TB Samsung 850 pro and an intel 905P 1 TB SSD).

Of course no issues with c3d 2022. Very happy that the unit auto upgraded.

Please note I am using c3d in a sincle seat install in a home office of 2.

My primary concern in an enterprise setting would be compatibility with essential proprittary software or periperals. That could be and should be sorted out by others in that context.

I hope this helps some of you.

I have found Vehicle Tracking does not install on a new computer with windows 11.  Has anyone else had problems with other Autodesk products?

I have sorted this problem.  It does work on Windows 11.  The VT version needs to match your AutoCAD or Civil3D version.
