Can you describe in more detail what you are trying to do?

Select all entities based solely on layer? You can do this by using layiso command and then selecting "all"

Screen shot of qselect window showing options selected, and description of what the result is compared to the result you want/expect would help in suggesting a solution.

Hi @patriciotxk

Sorry, I am not able to understand your question correctly. What is not working in QUICK SELECT?

Are you talking about "SELECTSIMILAR"? That is when you select an object on layer "1-Armaduras" you want to select all the objects in the layer? If yes, then type in the command "SELECTSIMILAR" and then select "SETTINGS" from the command line and enable the option of "layer" to select the objects based on layer🙂

If this not what you are looking for, then please let us know.

I am sure it works how it should(but we don't know your drawing content and your setting.

First question:

Command Qselect or selectsimilar ?

If you talk about qselect:

Are you able to do it with another layer? To make sure you know how the command works..

You wrote: Layer 1-Armaduras

But your picture shows a Layer 1-Armadura, without the "s"

Perhaps you have both and you selected the wrong(without the s). Just a typo in your post?

Uppload a dwg and a screenshot of your setting(qselect dialog).

For selectsimilar, check the selectsimilar setting(you can set which properties are the filter for the selectsimilar action)

?

I have the structural rebar in one drawing cut. The element that I am currently working its a stair and I started my work by doing the rebar detail of the concrete stair. The drawing is named "rebarstair".

And what I wanted to create when I wrote this post was the drawing that would show the geometry of the stair (this drawing is named stairgeometry), with the filling layers such as one of gravel and another one of poor concrete. To do this I copy the cut named "rebarstair" and removed the rebar and added the layers that I wanted...

The problem was I didnt wanted to select all the rebar and then remove them, what I wanted to do is to select them all with the less possible mouse clicks, and to do that I used the quick select, by selecting all the drawing, choosing quickselect, and then filtering the drawing by the layer, the one that I wanted was 1-Armadura, since its the layer in which I have the rebar, to later delete them, but I couldnt select all the rebar and so I had to delete them manually.

Best regards

The problem with the select similar is the fact that this command selects the elements in one specified layer all over the drawing, but I only want to select some elements in one specific area, that is why I used the quick select, but it isnt doing what I think its supposed to do.

best regards

If you can reproduce the problem everytime, share the file with us.

Hi @patriciotxk

In that case, you could select the object and type in the command "ISOLATE" which would isolate the objects now you can use select similar only on the objects selected. Once your work is done you can use the command "UNISOLATE" to get back all the elements in the drawing🙂

Maybe I am misunderstanding something, but it seems as though you could accomplish this by isolating the desired layer, then selecting with either a crossing window or the lasso tool, and then hit the delete key. You can also adjust the options of the layiso command to turn off all other layers (instead of lock & fade), then select everything visible in the desired area and delete....I do this frequently when sending only the necessary portions of a dwg to subcontractors or vendors...

Since your explanations of your issue are kind of all over the place, I'm going with this one.

Make a selection set of the specific area and then execute the QSelect command to filter your results as desired. If this is what you think you are doing, there could be two possible issues.

1. The rebar layer is nested in blocks that are on a different layer.

2. There is a problem with the execution of the QSelect command.

If it is #2, make a screencast of what you are doing. If it is not #2, share the drawing as it is most likely an issue with the content.
