Hello,

when linking an excel file to AutoCAD with Data Link Manager, the excel sheets appears with a white background. Is it possible to change this background to transparant?

regards, Jan

Sounds like you have OLE object inserted for the Excel sheets.

Have you tried an autocad table and using the DATALINK?

E.g. insert an autocad table object.

Click inside a cell, right click and select Datalink and follow the prompts.

You can link to an Excel sheet or a range of data from the Excel sheet

Hi,

I would guess if you turn the Excel's background to black you would get a black background in your OLE object ... 😉

Other question: it seems you are working with a black background in AutoCAD (I guess that's the reason why you ask here for none-white background), would you see black text (from Excel) when you insert the OLE-object with transparent background to AutoCAD's graphic with black background?

Hi @Jan-TSpD,

Did @leothebuilder and @Alfred.NESWADBA's suggestions help you resolve this issue?

If not, could you please zip up a sample DWG and Excel set of files where this is occurring and attach it to your next post, so that we can understand exactly what you're experiencing?

Hi Jan,

I just had the same problem and figured I'd tell you what I did. I just changed by excel table to No fill back ground and that fixed the problem!

Best,

Deepika
