WHIPTHREAD (variable de sistema), COMO SE UTILIZA, PARA OPTIMIZAR AUTOCAD

Saludos a todos, los miembros de esta excelente comunidad.

Quisiera saber como utilizar esta variable del sistema (WHIPTHREAD) según en la web dice, que esta se utiliza para acelerar las funciones de autocad.y que esta tiene cuatro valores para su asignación (0, 1, 2, 3), Inclusive en la ayuda de autodesk aparece lo mismo. (imagen-01).

Pero en el software si utilizo este comando, establece el limite de valores a ser asignados entre (0 => 15), que significa esto, y que valor debería de asignarle. para acelerar el rendimiento del software AutoCAD. (imagen-02).

Hi @jonotega1990,

That help page is the extent of documentation I found so far regarding WHIPTHREAD. From what I have been reading, this variable is usually intended to throttle back processor usage in case of errors and not really used to speed things up.  I too am curious about the 0-15 options that it will accept. I will continue to look for more information and will update this thread if I can find anything of value.I suggest leaving it at the default as I suspect that higher values are more for internal testing than anything else.

Hi,

WHIPTHREAD does not have any meaning for current AutoCAD as the hardware acceleration is used from GPU and not from CPU (as long as hw-acceleration is on and option "High quality geometry ..." is activated).

WHIPTHREAD was used to try to get some performance stuff like redraw/regen done with a separate (background) thread on a multi-kernel CPU (or more than one processor build in).

Hi @jonotega1990,

Here is what I have found out. Even though you are able to enter values from 0-15, only 0 and 1 are honored (on and off). So type 15 if you like but it doesn't do anything 🙂

I hope this helps. I would leave it at the default of 1 unless you see some bad behavior.
