I am looking for laptop to run CAD 2015 with budget around $2,000, i was hoping it would have a touchscreen feature if possible.
I use my CAD with the following:
- 2D & 3D
- CAP Studio
- 2020 rendering software
- Sketchup
- Vray
Please let me know
I have been using a Toshiba Qosmio laptop for more than three years now. I have Product Design Suite 2013 on it and it runs both Autocad solids and assemblies as well as Inventor assemblies without trouble. The main key is that it has a dedicated nVidia GPU and seperate VRAM so that AutoDesk and Adobe products use special drivers and do not share resources on the CPU like other apps. It also has other nice features like a backlit keyboard and really excellent audio. Mine has a 17.3" screen but I attach an external 29" monitor for CAD and graphics work. ASUS has similar offerings.
Take a look at the Qosmio laptops at http://www.toshiba.com/us/computers/laptops/qosmio.
Hello
Welcome to the Autodesk/AutoCAD Forums !
1) The fastest Core i5 (or maybe Core i7) you can buy (depending on your budget)
2) 16 Gb Ram memory
3) A "correct" graphic card with its own memory (2 Gb is OK)
4) A fast SSD Hard Disk or better a SDD HD (as primary) and a fast classic SATA HD (as secondary)
Happy New Year & THE HEALTH
