What is the window size indicated as 36/28?

Might not be the most appropriate place to put this question, but let me try any way since I am doing the work with AutoCAD:

I am translating an old line PDF drawing (not to scale) of an old (historical) wood stud framed house, drawn on the year 1937, into an AutoCAD "AS BUILT", for a residential "historical" renovation, and the existing elevations on the PDF indicate the single or the double hung windows  as 36/28, 24/28, etc.

What is what these dimensions indicate as to the size of the windows?  Are these modular dimensions?

Please Upload that PDF or the photo for us to take a look.

(Imperial scale window size 36/28) is normal for historical design.

Might hold posting a PDF since no permission has been asked for that, and/or copyright issues.

The numbers, one over the other, appear on each of the windows on the sheet where the building elevations are drawn.

Since you appear to be somewhat familiar with that way to tag a window (36/28), what the first number, the one above, means normally?  And what the lower number under the line means?  What is the width and which one is the height of the window?

Any little hint or information might be helpful.

36/28, 24/28 = LxH. thanks
