What CTB is used when the one specified is missing?

Hi,

I created a custom .NET program which batch prints drawings and saves with our custom naming format.

Sometimes, the specified CTB for a drawing is missing, and when that happens AutoCAD prints in full color. What default CTB is it falling back to in this scenario?

If the specified CTB exists, output is as expected.

Thanks

That's like asking what finger print to use when the suspect did not leave one at the crime scene... you don't.

Many users prefer to default to the MONOCHROME if they don't want to see color or NONE if color is important: in the meantime you need to ask the file creator for their missing CTB file to be sent to you.

Hi,

This is my point. The specified CTB is missing, but AutoCAD is falling back to another CTB since I can still print it.

I'm trying to find out what the fall back CTB is. Or "default" CTB.

NONE is the option AutoCAD falls back to when a plot style table is missing. You don;t get to control that sadly except if you want to pre-plan and change it yourself using PAGESETUP command in each and every tab in each and every DWG file.

The answer is NO ONE,

in thus case AutoCAD plot without a plotstyletable.

So, your routine should identify what .ctb the drawings are using; verify that it exists in the plotstyle path, and if not change the page setup to use monochrome.ctb for that plot
