I've tried the fixed I've seen posted on these forums but to no avail!.  Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Use AUDIT. Say "no" for "Try to fix" prompt to see what objects these are about - could be the layer or... You can try run AUDIT again to fix it, but not sure if that helps permanently. I would recommend try to get rid of those problematic objects manually....
