Wacom INTUOS PRO right click with AutoCad 2016

Just wondering if anyone in the community can offer any advice or guidance on the compatibility for the Wacom INTUOS PRO tablet and more specifically the right click button feature on the pen that comes with the tablet to access the AutoCad 2016 right click mouse button features.

I need to use my Intuos pen as the constant mouse scroll and mouse usage is a strain on my hand. I have AutoCAD 2016 on trial at the moment to see how it works with my Intuos tablet and I cant get the right click features to work on my pen. I have attached a screen shot of my pen settings. I have tried the right click on the tip and top and bottom button assignment but it wont work?

I am using Intuos software version 6.3.16-2

Any advice or help please

HI @Anonymous,

Welcome to the Community!

This isn't really an AutoCAD issue as it basically just accepts the pointing device from Windows.

Verify that you have the correct driver for your version of Windows. Test the rt-click functionality in other programs to verify that it works.

If it does and it still does not function in AutoCAD, I suggest you contact Wacom to see if they can trouble shoot for you. I am not trying to pass the buck here but feel that you will get better response from the manufacturer.

I am here to assist you if they have any questions.

Please hit the Accept as Solution button if my post fully solves your issue or answers your question.

I contacted Wacom first and they pointed me to seek guidance from the software developers or community at Autodesk as the Wacom features are working.

I have the latest version of the Wacom driver installed on my machine and the right click function works on all of my other application leaving me to think it was something to do with AutoCAD 2016 only. I was looking to the community for guidance to see if anyone else has come across this issue and if they had found a solution. I understood that these tablets are fairly widely used by AutoCAD operators and I was hoping so would could help me with this issue as I have looked online, read manuals and also tried changing the settings on my machine to get the right click function to work in AutoCAD but I cant for what ever reason? Maybe I worded the post incorrectly? It looks like I might have incorrectly interpreted the use of your forum, I have never used such a portal before for support.

Autodesk doesn't design their software to work with Wacom products: Wacom has to do it from their end. That's Autodesk's official response as you got above.

Stick around and see if anyone else with your exact setup wants to jump in and offer a time: in these forums it's as much a waiting game as anything when it's not an Autodesk fixable solution.

IMHO the better forum for your Q is over here https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/pointing-devices-and-displays/bd-p/17 (and you might as well search for your product there as well in case someone has already asked the same thing).

Good luck.

Thanks for the advice Dean, ill have a look on the other forum also. Wacom have not been very helpful at all and just offered a single line answer advising me to contact Autodesk. My feeling now is that this is probably a Windows 10 issue? I will keep searching for a solution as it is killing my wrist using the mouse all day.

Periodically, I'll put on a wristt brace for a few days, or switch over to a vertical mouse ot chang things around.  I had tried a Graphire table/stylus for a while, but never really felt comfortable using it (picking points and selecting entities never seeme d to work well).  I've also got a trackball laying around, and occasionally run with that.  Sticlking with a single mouse all the time will lead (often) to painful problems, and myapproach is to mix it up.

I use AutoCad 2018 with the WACOM INTUOS PRO Graphic Tab and set the various commands. You have to go to the Properties of the Tablet insert the application by clicking the + button and the software recognizes AutoCad. Then you need to set the various ExpressKey TouchRing keys. We need to take our hand, but everything works.
