That sounds like something that is possible through customisation (eg using a lisp or a script)
You could take a look at the App Store to see if there's any apps with this functionality.
You could also ask on the Customisation forums if anyone has a routine that does what you want.
There is probably some routines out there that add a label to the viewport with a name and/or scale when you create them - not sure what you mean about linking them through the sheet set
