Viewport scale in paperspace is very off

Hi,

Fairly new to autocad, and I'm having an issue getting the scales in my paperspace viewports correct. For background in case it's important: the drawings were brought in as .dwg files from sketchup layout, where they were correctly scaled. When I brought them into Autocad the units changed and I had to change the units back to feet. After I changed the units, I checked the distance on a wall. It was supposed to be a 25' wall, but it was 635'. So I rescaled the drawing in the model space, and now the line correctly reads 25'.

The issue is, now it won't scale correctly in paperspace. I set the scale of the viewport to 1/8"= 1' and the drawing is extremely tiny. I'm using 24"x36" paper, and the length of the drawn object is 150', so at that scale the drawing should be about 19" and take up most of the page, correct?  I tried a few different scales on the viewport, and 3"= 1' is giving me a print about the size I would expect 1/8"=1' to be.

Did I miss a step somewhere? I have tried everything I can think of, and now I'm just confused. I would appreciate the help if anyone has an idea of how to fix it.

635/25=25.4
10 inches = 25.4 Centimeters
What to make of this is hard to say without seeing your drawing. Definitely a mixed units problem.
"...the drawings were brought in as .dwg files from sketchup layout..."
How did you bring them in? As for Model Space I'm betting that's also a mixed units problem involving print scale.

Hi Dave,

Thanks for responding! I exported the drawings as a .dwg from Sketchup layout, then opened it in autocad. Your math makes sense, so I think the 635' was likely because I changed the units from decimals to inches in the model space. But I am unsure why it would be effecting the paperspace scaling after I rescaled it to the proper size. I am attaching my file to this comment so you can see the drawing.

Alaina,
Thanks for posting your drawing.
Use Command UNITS, or Command -DWGUNITS without the Scale Drawing Option, to match "Insertion Scale" Units to "Length Type" Units. Architectural = Inches. Then I think you're home free.
