This is a very minor annoyance, but it's akin to a paper cut that never heals.
I have a dual monitor setup with AutoCAD (now 2017 but 2014 did it too) on the second monitor on my right. Frequently, when moving the mouse pointer from within AutoCAD to another application on the other (left) monitor, I clip the Viewport Controls widget that is very close to the edge (no toolbars or palettes on the left edge of the AutoCAD window). When I do so, the tooltip comes along for the ride and stays visible and on top of the other application, such as shown below. Once triggered, I have to go back to AutoCAD (gain focus) to turn the tooltip off by hovering somewhere else for a second.
Yes, before someone helpful swoops in, I know I can turn off tooltips, thanks. That's not my point. I think this is a bug in that I don't think a tooltip should be able to flip outside the application window, but if does, it certainly shouldn't be allowed to persist after losing focus. Though, as I write this, maybe that means it's more of a graphics driver issue than the application per se? I am running the recommended AutoCAD driver for my graphics card, BTW.
I did a quick glance thru Options for 'Viewport Controls' as I'd be more than willing to turn off that which I've never, ever used, but I didn't find anything. Clicking on the [-] brings up a menu where only the ViewCube is checked (which I do use and keep visible), but nothing that looks related to turning the control off.
I'm mainly wondering if others have this same irritating cut.
