Viewport - Can get into model space but can't delete it / move it..etc

I tried to figure this one out but it's snowballed into a hellish experience.

I have a drawing with multiple viewports.
- I can double click on these viewports and alter them [scale, pan..etc]
- There is no border around the viewport so I can not delete or right click it

I have a viewport layer which is on, not frozen, and unlocked.

I tried to match the problem viewports to an mview port with no success.

I need to alter the size/location of these viewports.

Your help is greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

Viewports on top of other viewports can be problematic.

If you can't see the border of the viewport that means a layer is off or frozen...........turn on/thaw ALL layers and see what happens.

Got your file....I turned on all layers and viewport boundaries became visible.

Time to create dedicated viewport layers and make sure your viewports are on that layer.

They are difficult to distinguish from the other polylines that are floating around.

This is why, you have layer override.

thank you both... I really appreciate this..

I had someone else setup the file for me. I'm very limited with my CAD skills so I might be able to learn something from this. I would usually use the mview command to create a polygonal viewport.

I am just wondering, why would a viewport be frozen? whats the benefit?

I believe it is good practice to place viewports on a dedicated layer and set it to Non-Plot.

If the viewport layer is set to non-plot there is no reason to turn it off or freeze it.

The viewports in your drawing are on layer 0 (zero), not good drawing practice in my view.

So you don't print them, but there are many other ways to make them not printable.

That makes sense, I found the plot controls in the Layer Properties.  I need to work on my layer management..
