Viewbase Defaults

Is there a way to change the default VIEWBASE styles?

For example, the default hatch scale when creating section views is always too big for what I do.  I have to manually select every instance of hatching and change the scale myself.  Is there a system variable to change this?

similar for other viewbase options, like default line weights and line type scales in the auto generated MD_ layers.  I can go into the layer manager and change what i need manually, but having to do that for every new dwg is a drag...

Thanks for your report.

Actually you may find two buttons for ViewSectionStyle and ViewDetailStyle which can create or modify a style for hatch, Text and color etc. settings. Once you create a style, you may use it like Text or Dimension style way. I have given a capture to point out these two button locations.ViewStyle.png

At the mean time, if you would like to use the commands, here are the two command names: "viewsectionstyle" and "viewdetailstyle".

Hi @sfiforeman,

In addition to @JianStewart great suggestion of using styles, have you tried setting the layer properties in your template file prior to running Viewbase?  You might also consider creating an Action Macro to do this after you have created your views.

At risk of stating the obvious, make the changes in the other posts in your template file.  Any new drawings will have the layers and styles already in there for you.  Any existing drawings you have can be updated by using the Design Center and dragging those items over into your existing drawings.

Hey anychance you can help me to remove the boundary created from creating a section of a viewbase? Sometimes I get this bug that adds a border/boundary to a section view off a viewbase-- and for the life of me I cannot remove it. I've noticed that it will ALSO HATCH the entire PLANE of the section! Please help!
