Using GEO features in ACAD 2018

Is there any way to leverage geo-data in ACAD 2018. Like, I've set my datum, so can I then get Lat,Long for say, block insertion points? Or anything like that?

Or is AutoCAD really just basically an aerial map and that's it? And for anything more. you'd need something like AutoCAD Map 3D (is that still a thing??) for geo-data work.

Trying to see if I can move data between drone flights and my dwg files natively or if I need to do my own conversions.

Civil 3D (which has Map 3D)  can do all that and more.
