Using autoCAD with either the Intel or M1 Macbooks

I want to buy a Macbook but not sure which to purchase for my AutoCAD needs. I only do architectural design work in 2D. I may receive a 3D drawing from an architect but i would only use 2D for what i do. I would add Autolisp files for custom blocks I have. Also, how well do the Macs work with the Intel and M1 chip?

I've always used Windows based PCs but I've heard Apple product are more reliable and last longer.

Thanks

Daniel

1) Have you ever used a MacOS device before? It's not Windows. Nothing wrong with it, but there is a small learning curve.

2) Do you realize the AutoCAD for MAC interface is 100% different and you cannot make it look like the Windows OS version? That's a really big one for most that change platforms.
Plus the current version of AutoCAD for MAC2022 runs fine on M1 chips with a patch but its not designed for it (maybe the next version next year).

3) There are a few other things that are missing but you can get around, but most importantly to you there are some LISP limitations, very few 3rd party add-ons if you are used to them in the WinOS platforms, plus a few small number of missing commands.
