Use simple mathematical operators on input

Hi, it's my first day using autocad and I'm trying to use '+','-' or '*' with the line input field.
I'm pretty experienced with Fusion360 and there you can type these operators pretty much anywhere.

Does this work here too? Or is there a way to use these operators?

Kind regards
Simon

Probably not as directly as you hope, though I confess that I may not understand fully.  The "line input field" is not common AutoCAD terminology -- maybe you mean what is called the Command line.  Can you post some examples of how you would expect to type in what kinds of inputs, and under what circumstances?  In drawing, or in editing, or both?  Etc.

If it can't be as direct as you want, you may be able to use the >CAL calculator function<.

I tried to draw a line just like in fusion. So I click at the point where I want to start and then I type something like 1000-300*2 This sould result in a length of 400 but the input field right next to the line is red outlined.

This is not Fusion.

For the AutoCAD version you;
Click at the point where I want to start
move the cursor in the direction you want to go in
type 'CAL (notice the ') then hit <enter>
type 1000-300*2 (then hit <enter>)

Now you have a 400 long line.
