Update ATC file to include new macro

Hello, my org has a few .atc files with macro tools pointing to existing autolisp routines. I would like to update one of them to include a new button pointing to a new routine I am planning to deploy to my team. Is there a way for me to open the .atc file (either in autocad or some IDE or text editor) and manually insert a new "button"? Having opened the files in pycharm just to see what they look like under the hood it looks like I could maybe just insert it in the format the rest of the buttons follow but I wanted to check to see what the "right" way to do this would be.

Hi,

Yes you can,

but may I ask why you don't edit palettes as any other users (by GUI, toolpalette edits in AutoCAD)?

* I these palettes are managed by you and (other) users don't have write-rights *
