Unwanted Object snappping

I utilize the object snap daily in my ACAD drawings and use the F3 to toggle the object snap on and off. For quite some time now, I find the snap has been turning on when I don’t want it to and it requires me to use the F3 to disable it. I’ve been ignoring the problem but it has gotten more than annoying as at times I may go back and forth with the snap mode all day and the problem has really bogged down the productivity. I’m not sure if this is an ACAD issue or a hardware issue. The keyboard I use is a Microsoft Ergonomic 4000 V1.0. I use both ACAD and C3D 2018.

Hoping someone will have some insight into this problem

Thanks

Since you mention the keyboard. Have you tried switching it out?

It could be a LISP issue also.

Drafting is a breeze and Revit doesn't always work the way you think it should.

The Microsoft Ergo is the keyboard I'm currently using. I've had a Dell keyboard in the past and had the similar issue. What puzzles me is that I haven't seen any posts from people having the same issue as I am having.

Thanks

Hi,

if system variables change by themselves (which they never do, but commands or tools might change them by their needs) you can use command _SYSVARMONITOR and define the variables you want to watch and you want to get informed when they change. This gives you the feedback when exactly this modification happens.

How long do you press the F3 key ? A long pressing is possible.

TEMPOVERRIDES to 1 (defaut) manages the ability to stay on F key so that the replacement is temporary...

Interesting

Can you explain how an outsourced lisp routine can enter into my ACAD program?

Interesting again

Could you clearify the F3 pressing? I have been using ACAD since the 80's and until roughly the past year or so I've never had this issue using the F3 button.

Thanks
