Unwanted lines when zooming

I am using AutoCAD 2015 educational version.

I had issues when installing ".NET 4.5 is not installed" but AutoCAD showed me how to work around the error.

Now when using the program, I am getting unwanted lines when I zoom in and out or use the mouse. Please see the attached screen shot.

Is this because of circumventing the .NET issue ?

Can it be resolved by reinstalling the program?

Can someone help me please? Plese email me when someone replies. Thank you.

Hi,

welcome @Anonymous!

Try disabling the hardware acceleration (command _GRAPHICSCONFIG) and see if that works.

If yes, then the next step can be to reactivate it and in the same dialog uncheck one of the first two options or both and see if that works then too.

The _GRAPHICSCONFIG typically takes care of such issues, like @Alfred.NESWADBA said.

However, I'd also recommend looking at a newer educational version...  Since you are using the complimentary educational license, as a student or teacher I assume.

If your reasoning is due to an old PC then I understand holding back on the new.  My laptop is a Toshiba Qosmio X505 from 2009 (i7 processor, 8Gb RAM, Windows 7 64bit).  I'm able to run ACAD 2018, Inventor 2018, and other 2018 products.

I sometimes turn off the graphics acceleration in AutoCAD if something 3D slows me down but overall happy with performance on this old thing.

Cheers,

Blaine
