Unrecognized Version Cannot be Read

Anonymous
Not applicable

I had been working in a file all day yesterday and everything was fine. Now today every time I switch from paperspace to model I get *unrecognized version cannot be read*. The file is a save-as of a file that I use everyday, all I did was add paperspace templates and some fields to it. I have seen previous posts about this issue saying the plot style search path needs to be changed, but it is the same path as the original file, and all of my files.

And:

Check your PAGESETUP for all layouts/model

and your Options/file Searchpathe for plotstyles, pc3 and pmp,

perhaps there is a Link to a (too) old fileversion.

Yeah I have tried the audit and it did not fix it. I appreciate it though!

Pagesetups refers to plotters pc3 pmp and ctb/stb.

You added layouts, so you can have another pagesetup.

Also it might help you to know that I have opened the file on other computers in my office that are on the same server and as far as I can tell the error does not come up on their computers..

Edit:

Wait nevermind. I just tried it on someone else computer and the error came up.

Thanks

Are you running a 3rd party add-on(s) by chance? 78 regapps in your file plus two RECOVER errors found in R2021 here.

Tell us more about which of the layouts is triggering the error, or is it all of them?
And what is "adobe PDF converter" set as the plotter in modelspace and if you are the only one (and that other PC) that do not have it installed?

EDIT: there are two missing XREFs, if you detached them does the issue go away for you too?

We run autocad with Carlson Survey Sofware.

I do not know which layout would cause it. I just deleted them and I am still getting the error.

I don't know what Adobe PDF converter is, but I know I don't need it.

I misspoke earlier, the same error is appearing on some other computers in the office.

I detached the xrefs and it didn't work.

It is the plotter you have assigned in modelspace in your file, where you switch to get the error.

Do you have an AutoCAD profile without Carlson loaded that you can test with?

I just set my model and paper space plotters to none and it the error still occurs.

Unfortunately, I do not have an autocad account w/out carlson.

You can start your 2019 this way without the addon

[win]+[R]

"C:\Program Files\Autodesk\AutoCAD 2019\acad.exe" /product ACAD /safemode

Ok, thats good.

The file is saved in the same folder as the original file (you used to saveas..)?

And your uploaded file is the real same file, or not?

Please try it again with your uploaded file if not.

On my side: No problem.

Look in the folder that comes up when you run PlotterManager.

Are there any files in that folder other than PC3 Files?

Are there any PC3 files you don't recognize?
