Unknown Error

Need to send a file to company who will plasma cut some components for project im doing. He cannot open them as they give error (Unknown error) ?? can someone explain why he cannot open please. I need these cut for a project I am using student version.... Many Thanks

That's a bit too vague. What file type is it? What is he using to open? What exactly does the error say?

try before sending your file :

• clean your drawing by PURGE command . 
• AUDIT your drawing.
• Purge Regapps from the drawing ( Use command -PURGE with option R in command line ) . 

Now send your file and see if any changes ? make sure that you save the file in a format type that the other side can open it . we need to know what CAD versions that both of you have ?

Thanks he is using NanoCad and I sent him a dxf and dwg file and both give the same message. He uses Nano all the time and has not had this issue before with dxf files.

Thanks.... I am using AutoCad 2020 and sending the file in DXF format he uses NanoCad and often gets DXF file from autocad with no issues? Thanks for your help

Hi,

I guess nanoCAD can't read the version of DXF you are sending from AutoCAD 2020.

Try that:

Start command -EXPORTTOAUTOCAD and select as format DWG-2013 to create a copy of your current file, converted down to an older file-format and to clean out the AEC objects.

Send this DWG to your partner, that should be working as nanoCAD can read DWG format.

you may nee to check if your version type 2020 will meet his Nano version type .
