unjoin lines

drawing separate lines but when i go to move just one line, everything that it touches moves or stretches?? i know there is some sort of command that disassociates lines but i cannot figure out what it is, please help.

Start LIST command then select this "line", what does AutoCAD report it to actually be? A POLYLINE perhaps? or something else like a GROUP?

Or are you talking about line constraint?
