Hello everybody,
Please allow me to give you a brief rundown on how I've run into this problem. I originally set up my template with the units set up with architectural feet. I created all of my blocks and then realized that I was having scaling issues. I do site plans and Landscape designs so my blocks are trees, shrubs, site amenities, etc. I've created approximately 250 blocks set in my model space and I'm getting ready to create tool palettes for these blocks. Again all of these blocks were created in architectural feet. Inside the block editor, they are all set to feet as well.
After another post in the forum, I was told it would be better for me to work in decimal feet due to the size of projects I work on. And that architectural feet isn't a good way to go and I agreed after running into vp scaling issues among other things. So I changed my units to decimal feet within my dwt. It seems that ever since I've changed the units, when I insert my blocks, they come in huge. So to troubleshoot this, I went inside the block editor and measured the diameter of my trees and the measuregeom is showing me the measurement is in inches even though my units in the dwt and within the block are feet.
Whenever I measure diameters in model space, it measures in feet. So when inserting blocks there seems to be a scale factor of x12 going on behind the scenes. Hence it measuring inches in block editor and feet in model space. Is there something I can do to fix this without exploding all of my blocks in model space and recreating them? I've searched for system variables that might fix this but may be looking in the wrong place. Also my units switch to inches when I go into paper space.
If anyone can steer me in the right direction, I would greatly appreciate it so that I can create my tool palettes and have everything insert at the units in which they should. Also in my options/user preferences my target and source units are both set to feet. Thanks.
