UNITE

I came across this command by accident (typo).  I can find no reference to it in the help file or on the web.  Can anyone enlighten me?

Hi,

UNITE command doesn't exist in normal AutoCAD installation .. BUT there is alternative command called JOIN is the equal command . >> Click <<  OR you have an outsource lisp routine that represent this command .

See the attached image. It does (or did) appear to be a command... UNITE
renamed to JOIN? That is what is perplexing.

Either in .lsp or .pgp

You can find it there.

It's an alternative command name.  There are others [for example, DELETE (spelled out -- not the Delete key) is not listed as a command name in Help either, but it works, giving you the ERASE command].  The command line shows the "real" command name you're going to get when you type one in:

But I haven't been able to find a listing of them, either, maybe because I don't know what they're officially called [except not "alias"] -- are they "alternative" command names? "substitute"? "equivalent"? "stand-in"? "proxy"?
