Hi all
A client of ours has a detailed drafting and document control manual (fun times for everyone) whereby electronic files are to be submitted at the conclusion of the project. A section on deliverables makes mention of the PROJECTNAME variable but I have never used this functionality before and their instructions are limited to simply requiring drawings to contain it but offer no particulars.
Also mentioned in the manual is that all reference files are to be bound to each individual file. Asides from the fun of separating drawing files often containing dozens of tabs into individual files and the size of said files containing exactly the same references over and over, I am struggling to see what effect or impact any settings regarding PROJECTNAME would have on this process.
Can somebody please shed light on the process of using PROJECTNAME irrespective of the requested deliverables?
I have searched the forums for information on the PROJECTNAME variable and have encountered a lot of ambiguity regarding its use and usefulness. If anybody could kindly provide a practical example on how they used it and it's effectiveness I would be appreciative.
regards
