Understanding Line weights

Morning all, 

Can anybody help me understand with what I'm seeing below.

The icon on the left is de-selected and the icon on the right has been selected.

The line weight of deselected icons is too thick for my liking. Is there something i'm doing wrong? I don't want to completely disable line weights but wish the icons to look like the ones on the right by default.

if do you want to keep LWDISPLAY ( ON ) , then you may need to change ( decrease ) your lightweights values .

Without your drawing (and plotstyle-table if used to display) we know nothing about your CAD-Elements,

except you are playing with dynamic blocks.

You can control the lw display in your: lineweight settings

nothing more.

The ability to display lineweights live on screen showing not the real lw, it's just a helper-function for users.

have you try lineweight setting > by layer or LWdisplay off? thanks

As an add on question  - can anybody help with the light and dark patches that show on the thicker lines?

On the cloud I can see all of the joins for each part. Is there anyway to disable this? I presume this is a different option to line weights?

can we have your previous CAD elements as a CAD dwg file for testing please ?

i think that it's a visual issue that can be resolved if you fit your VP scale . i mean that you have to change your VP rectangle size .

i forgot to add that you may need to change TRANSPARENCYDISPLAY = 0 . 

Command: TRANSPARENCYDISPLAY
Enter new value for TRANSPARENCYDISPLAY <0>:
