Unable to select and edit objects.

I'm working in autocad 2019 in a decently sized drawing (about 6mb) with about 100,000 objects in it.

Occasionally while selecting objects, the object will be highlighted but won't appear in my properties window as a selection, it will continue to say no selection. When this happens the objects I had selected will remain highlighted even after pressing escape. I can interact with the highlighted objects with what I'd consider single prompt commands such as delete, but when I try to use a command such as rotate where I have to click on a base point, nothing will register and the command will end.

This will continue until I save the drawing, exit it, and reopen it.

I'm pretty stumped as to whats causing this, and its really effecting my productivity. Any ideas?

PROPERTIES palette doing that usually means you have a 3rd party Windows Registry Cleaner at work wiping away temp entries needed by the program. Turn it off for a month and see if the problem ever comes back.

Otherwise you might have a shaky log-in WIndows Registry file that needs repair: your IT folks should then get involved.

Also ensure your AutoCAD2019 is up to 2019.1.2 version: ABOUT command should confirm what you have.

Hi,

>> When this happens the objects I had selected will remain

>> highlighted even after pressing escape

Could be a display issue too, what happens when you run command _REGEN in that state? ...or if you pan this object to outside the screen and then back.

>> This will continue until I save the drawing, exit it, and reopen it.

You might try to simply activate a second drawing and then go back to your previous one.
