Unable to form a union of two 3D objects!!

Hi All

Can anyone give me any pointers of why I'm struggling to form a union of these 2 parts please?

You have an incomplete intersection for both solid objects. The bodies might only be touching at a single edge or point rather than passing through each other. The idea is to Move one body slightly to ensure a proper intersection to finally get a successfully union result.

I have watched the video but I am not quite following.  Have you simply moved one part relative to the other and it then allowed a union?  I dont really understand as the parted clearly overlap considerably.

Yes... The idea is to Move one body slightly to ensure a proper intersection.

there is a lot of cleanup that would need to happen. For instance this is from a what i believe is meant to be a flat surface

But I believe them to be correctly aligned with each other as it is - if I move one then they wont be any more?  Apologies if I misunderstand.

I'm fairly new to this (as you can probably tell!) and trying to produce this (to me) complex shape has tested me a little!

The idea is to make a little bit more intersection between the two parts (overlap), So you can successfully complete Union command.
