Unable to apply Visual Styles to top view

I have a simple piping drawing in which I use three views (top, front and side) in both model space and paper space. In the top view in paper space and model space, when I try to change the visual style, there is no significant change. The view essentially appears like a 2D wireframe. I am trying to go for a more solid feel like the "Shaded" or "Shades of gray". Every view works out alright except the top view. Please assist.

@benjamin.jesudasanCA746 ,

While we wait for the drawing try moving the object closer to 0,0,0 coordinates, or Reset the Visual Style to default.

Hi,

Objects are already placed near 0,0,0. Styles are working fine in every view ( F, B, R, SW, SE etc.) except top.

Looks like it's how your AEC pipe objects are rendered. In top view, it's always without shading.

You can tell the difference when you draw a typical AutoCAD 3d Object like a BOX and you'll see the shading appear while the AEC pipe objects remain like 2d wireframes

@benjamin.jesudasanCA746 ,

Contact Support.

An alternative would be to slightly orbit to get what you want.

Hello Valentin,

When I print the drawing, it will not a be a true top view even though it is very close. I will use this as a temporary fix for now. Regarding your earlier comment, the pipe is an out-of-the-box, CAD entity. When I use other mv parts provided by Autodesk such as a pump, tank, valve, HVAC unit, they are all behaving the same way. In top view, they show up as 2D lines.

Not from plain AutoCAD you did not, the topic of this forum, there is no "pipe" product lines (fittings etc.) that is like that.

Are you using a third party add-on? Or a specialized variant of AutoCAD?

That is correct. I am using AutoCAD MEP. The pipe and the other objects I mentioned came with AutoCAD MEP.

You may want to post in that forum and also link to this thread to see if you get any more feedback

Thanks. I just now realized the separate forum for MEP. Will post in the other forum.
