Hello everyone. I have graduated college for about a year and looking to really boost my AutoCAD skills for employment. Does anyone know where I can find complete start to end 2D video tutorials eg. utility plants, construct site, complex homes. I want to work for an Engineering company and could not find much to say the least on the internet.

I have talked to AutoCAD "telephone staff" which gave me links to subjects on basics. I also went on youtube and viewed one hundred thumbnails to videos, went to 20 websites that were classified as the best. I could not find what I'm looking for. What I'm not looking for is examples of how to make objects and learn commands I have already learned.

What I am simply looking for is complete start to finish video tutorials for "engineering firm" occupations for free.?

Do you know where I can find this?

That kind of specialized training comes at a premium. You'd be lucky to find something like that for free. Most people in your situation head out into the field for an entry level position or, if they are continuing their education, look for an internship.

Drafting is a breeze and Revit doesn't always work the way you think it should.

Hey @Anonymous

The surprising thing is that you only need to know the basics! Simple as that. Once you know how to use AutoCAD you can apply the knowledge to pretty much produce whatever task you are given. There is 2D and 3D drafting all of which are so wide. There is no one single course that can really exhaust that in one package. Plus the best way to learn something is always to practice it as you are learning.

Whichever organization you join, I believe there is always like some sort of training while you still on probation/internship. So don't freak out! You don't need to know everything, just the basics of using and working through the software. There may not be "the big course" out there that you may be looking for, only a combination of some good basic skills acquired here and there from the numerous courses you can take.

I would recommend you check your skills against what is normally tested in the ACU or ACP certification program from Autodesk here. Hope this helps.

If you're looking at different fields, then you're going to have to expand your knowledge. Plant work might use Plant3D, anything to do with buildings will lean towards Revit, Mechanical projects will be in Fusion and/or Inventor. AutoCAD is good for a base GUI system, but don't think its the only product to learn.

Feel free to look at my YouTube channel for a bunch of video's about all of the different products. Good luck finding free teachings, unless you get work with someone and they send you to training.
