Turn off line weights for XRef PDF

Is it possible to turn off PDF line weights or PDF rendering for an XRef?

Software like Adobe Acrobat (Ctrl+5) or Bluebeam Revu let you do this.

Share a dwg with this situation and show us what the end result you want vs what you are getting now

@lthiffeault  you control the creation of PDF line-weights from inside AutoCAD: is that what you want help with, how to create PDFs that have no such appearance?

Note: once your PDF is created, AutoCAD will do nothing to change the PDF reality, it is not ACROBAT or BLUEBEAM or have any comparable tools. So if you are trying not to use those tools, then you are out of luck.

If you need to override an xref's lineweights even if they are overridden in the xref'd file, use the XREFOVERRIDE Variable and set it to <1>

Then adjust the layers in the XREF manager

Let me explain more clearly. When navigating a PDF (vector) in Acrobat or Bluebeam, the line thickness rendering can be turned off. All lines in the PDF are displayed to 1 pixel wide.

PDF reader, lines rendered:

PDF reader, line rendering OFF:

AutoCAD, PDF underlay lines rendered:

I would like to have to same option in AutoCAD when underlying a PDF XRef into a drawing. Is it possible to have the pdf underlay to show lines to be 1 pixel wide?

Nope that’s not an option but you can always submit this as a wishlist like in the AUGI forum

AutoCAD is not a PDF editor. Sorry. Never has been. It does not control PDF content.

But if everything was a DWG file (aka no PDF content) then... that's an option if you 100% set up and use LWIEGHT settings and simply turn off LWDISPLAY variable

Or if you have this on in PAGESETUP command then you need to uncheck the box (or even check it if you use a neutral plot style table like MONOCHROME)
