Hello, i am trying to add the length of a polyline to the rollover tooltips but when i add polyline to the object type list it displays a red x next to the object and none of the edits push through. Not sure what to do, thanks!

That really is a great idea. I did it and mine works great!!

I typed CUI… then in the Rollover Tooltips I selected what you showed.

You must be in the master cui that shows in your window. Check that you did update that one.

Please see the two pasted images below.

Hope this helps!!!

Thanks, JRR!

That looks right. It should be working.

You have closed out and come back in? I did not have to do this.

Your sure it is a Pline?

Do you have full rights to your systems setup? Some HRs lock out editing some commands.

Hope this helps!

JRR!

Unless there is a quirk in C3D2025 (this is not the forum for it, ask over there), you are likely not editing the correct CUIx file that is active for your session or it is locked from you being able to edit it.

Are you running an add-on from a 3rd party? Or is this pure C3D025 Out of The Box?

From what i know i am not restricted. I am using Civil 3d 2024. This is my current workspace.

Hi,

unsure (long time ago)

look at the enterprise or partial cui

ACAD

Is it loaded?

Edit plain Acad objects (Polyline/length) there

Are you a sole user at your location, no one else has C3D or is using it or AutoCAD at all, no CAD Manager or IT?

or are you in an office and standards and a CAD Manager/IT that set up your station and C3D?

You'll need to reset AutoCAD/C3D most likely at some point if you are all alone and you alone set up/installed C3D OOTB.

You can also open a support case with Autodesk if you are on subscription to seek out Autodesk Support's help:

Have you gotten it to work yet?

Another way to display length and other properties is with the quickproperties dialog box when selecting objects.
Try setting QPMODE to 1

You can customize this box the same way you do the rollover menu

That worked! Thanks! I went into the Partial Customization Files and in the ACAD menu i edited the Rollover Tooltips there and that worked.
