Trying to copy objects out of a drawing that says it contains proxy objects, what to do?

I am currently working in standard Autocad 2018. I have a survey basemap file that was sent to me, I believe it was done in Land Desktop but as it was sent it all looks like regular Autocad objects.

I need to copy the basemap objects into another drawing. When I try to copy with a base point it says "Copy to clipboard failed." If I try to WBLOCK it says it can't do it due to proxy objects.

I tried -EXPORTTOAUTOCAD and DWGCONVERT. With -EXPORTTOAUTOCAD it created a new file, but I get the same issues- if I WBLOCK the whole drawing, the basemap objects are missing for some reason. If I try to just WBLOCK the objects I need, I get the proxy object error still. DWGCONVERT didn't seem to do anything useful.

Is there another command I can run to get rid of the proxy objects?

Turn On all layers

unlock all layers

unfreeze all layers

do purge, overkill, audit, then flaten,

then try again. it should work.

Well I got WBLOCK to work, not sure if the purge/audit/overkill/flatten chain was what fixed it or if I was doing something wrong with with WBLOCK but at any rate I got it copied over. Thank you all

This is a issue that pops up for me sometimes.

The best solution for me was converting the DWG into a pdf then importing that PDF into my template.
